San Francisco, California considering ban on sale of pets, except fish
July 8, 2010: San Francisco’s Commission of Animal Control and Welfare is considering a law banning the sale of all pets, except fish. They are trying to stop the high rate of animals relinquished to shelters, where many wind up euthanized. The Commission also hopes this law will discourage puppy and kitten mills.
